Using Guitar Tabs

One really bad thing about the ukulele is there is little in the way of music available to buy at music stores or find on the net. It bugs me that there are 150 versions of every pop song, yet you are limited to the same 100 or so songs for the uke. (Most sites seem to have the same list of songs. )
What gives?
What I do to get the music to the song I’ve got in my head is just search of the the song and add “chords” at the end of my search text. It usually brings up guitar chords/tabs, but that’s ok, if it’s just to play to someone’s singing, it does the trick. Just play a little chord progression over the solo sections. If I read guitar music enough, I may eventually be able to transcibe guitar music into the uke on the fly. One can dream.
The uke’s not mainstream enough to have a range of music available, but then again, I think I might like it out of the mainstream spotlight.

Have you tried Chordie.com? You can transpose most of the songs to ukulele. Have fun!

[A] [A]
White lips, pale face
[Gbm]
Breathing in, snow flakes
[D] [A]
Burnt lungs, sour taste
[A] [A]
Lights gone, days end
[Gbm]
Struggling to pay rent
[D] [A]
Long nights, strange men
——————————-
[D]
And they say
[D]
She’s in the class A team
[A]
Stuck in her daydream
[Dbm7]
Been this way since 18
[D]
But lately her face seems
[D6]
Slowly sinking, wasting
[A]
Crumbling like pastries
And they scream
[Dbm7]
The worst things in life come free to us
[A] [D]
Cos we’re just under the upper hand
[A]
I’d go mad for a couple grams
[Gbm] [D] [A]
And she don’t want to go outside, tonight
[A] [D]
And in a pipe she flies to the motherland
[A]
Or sells love to another man
[Gbm] [D] [A]
Its too cold, outside
[A]
For angels to fly
[A]
Angels to fly
——————————-
[A] [A]
Ripped gloves, raincoat
[Gbm]
Tried to swim to stay afloat
[D] [Am]
Dry house, wet clothes
[A] [A]
Loose change, bank notes
[Gbm]
Weary-eyed, dry throat
[D] [A]
Call girl, no phone
——————————-
[D]
And they say

She’s in the class A team

Stuck in her daydream

[A]
For angels to fly
[A]
An angel will die
[A] [D]
Covered in white, closed eye
[A]
And hoping for a better life this time
[A]
We’ll fade out tonight, straight down the line
