First Position Major Chords

A must for any uke player that wants to strum to simple songs is to learn and memorize at least one of each of the first position major chords. Major chords contain the at least one of the first, third and fifth note of the major scale (also known as the major triad). There are countless songs that contain only a few major scales, so if you learn these, you’re ready to start playing a few lots of classic songs. Here are a list of the chords I use.

There are many different versions of these chords, these are the ones I use. Learn them.
