Camping with the Ukulele

I just got back from a surf/camp trip to victoria’s famous torquay. Apart from being rained out by history making thunderstorms one night and terrible surf for two of the days, it was still a fun trip. Because of the rain an lack of surf, there wasn’t much else to do but smoke some whacky tobacky, shoot the shit and you guessed it, tool around on the ukulele.

I’ve got my own personal song collection printed out (this collection is growing weekly) and it’s the perfect diy karaeoke tool. People who had played guitar in the past picked it up and had a go, even people who haven’t had any music experience had a go and I got in some practice time the few moments I had to myself. Next time you go on a camping trip, bring along your el-cheapo toy uke just to bash about, you won’t regret it.

Now if only someone came up with a waterproof uke that we can play while we wait between sets of waves.
